WHAT IS MANUAL OSTEOPATHY?

Manual Osteopathy was founded in 1874 by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still. Dr. Still believed that you could heal the body without the use of drugs and surgeries. His belief was that you can treat the musculoskeletal system of the body non-invasively and it can help treat many diseases, dysfunctions and pain in the body. Dr. Still believed that if the body was functioning at its best it has the ability to heal itself. So he found a non invasive way to help the body gain optimal functioning and founded Manual Osteopathy.

Manual Osteopathy looks at the body as a whole, not just where the problem is. The techniques used during treatment are very gentle and won't cause you much pain. Your practitioner will look at your spine, nervous system, muscles, cranial, organs, lymphatic system and soft tissues to make sure they are giving you the best treatment possible.

Using hands on techniques your practitioner will help realign your body and aid it into healing itself. Techniques such as muscle energy techniques, soft tissue techniques, osteopathic techniques, lymphatic drainage and more are used during your treatments.

Your treatments with a manual osteopath are going to about 1 hour in length. This is because we do an extensive examination of your body before we treat you, and we are going to help educate you about what is going on in your body, and personally, I always give minimum 3 at home exercises to help you gain the best results.

If you want an alternative, non invasive, and gentle treatment to a disease, or any chronic pain in your body, manual osteopathy is an amazing practice that will give you results and help your whole body heal. - Miranda Voldeng
